Director's Note
Our first Mid-Winter Conference was so
successful that we asked the speaker, Graham Cooke, to come back before he had
even left the Twin Cities. You may want to get his messages. We've never had
so many orders for tapes. We hope to have another Mid-Winter Conference next
year. And we'll have another Pastors' Day as a part of it again. 150 were able
to join us this time.
We plan to push the ARC out of the harbor at a
convention in the Twin Cities June 3 & 4. People have asked us, "What happens
to Lutheran Renewal when you establish the ARC (Alliance of Renewal
Churches)?" Our answer: it will probably expand as the ARC grows. The ARC is
for congregations, not just for pastors. Those churches that want to align
with the ARC because they are convinced that a new wineskin will assist them
in living out their values and carrying out their vision are invited to team
up with us in that new network. Some churches are not ready to make that kind
of change, but they still seek the empowering presence of the Spirit. We will
continue to connect with congregations regardless of their denominational
affiliation. If they demonstrate that they are interested in the life of the
Spirit and not simply in a weekend of inspiration, then LR will want to be
available to them as it has always been. These are exciting days for Lutheran
Renewal and we trust for you as well!
