Directors Note

2001 will not be forgotten at Lutheran Renewal. It will be remembered as the
year The Master's Institute was founded and the ARC was built. While I
concentrated on working with a team to prepare MI, Eric Bluhm has been
spending more time to make the ARC "seaworthy." With each new meeting of the
ARC leadership team, the vision for the ARC grew. We now see it as a powerful
new force in the Church, designed for pastors and congregations who appreciate
their Lutheran heritage and theology and also appreciate what the Holy Spirit
is doing in the Church and the world today. Congregations interested in being
a founding church can call or e-mail the LR office and ask for an application.
The nine students of The Master's Institute (MI) are experiencing all three
legs of the school's unique vision: academic teaching, hands-on leadership
training, and personalized character formation. The mission of MI is to train
the heart, head, and hands of Christian leaders for effective ministry. Some
will be pastors, some will plant churches, some will be missionaries or youth
directors, or even business professionals.
Meanwhile, LR continues to reach out to Lutheran congregations and pastors.
While we have been busy building this and launching that, Dan and Denise
Siemens have kept careful watch over the ongoing ministry. Weekend missions
introduce churches to life in the Spirit. Our August conference urged
disciples of Jesus Christ to cross over the Jordan and take their inheritance.
We have resources to help you possess your possessions. One problem amidst all
this excitement is that the finances of Lutheran Renewal have been at their
lowest point in many years. We're not sure why, but we are looking to the Lord
to turn this around for us, because we do sense His presence and favor on the
work. Please consider being a part of the answer to these prayers. We would
appreciate being put on the budget of churches that benefit from our ministry.
Thank you.
