Stewardship
Strategies For Effective Christian Giving
by Orlando Logelin
One of the special services we
provide is that of assisting your congregation in the stewardship of their
God-given possessions. With over 30 years of experience in planned giving
services, we can offer helpful ideas and assist you in a plan that will
address your personal, family, and ministry objectives.
One popular plan for those
approaching retirement is the Charitable Gift Annuity which can provide
significant financial and tax benefits for you. For instance, a contribution
of cash, stock or bonds to Lutheran Renewal will give you guaranteed annuity
payments for life, with payments based on the size of your gift and your age.
Since a portion of your annuity payment is tax-free, your income is generally
significantly higher than conventional money market rates. A gift annuity also
provides you with a charitable income tax deduction that you can apply toward
your current income tax return. In addition, if your gift consists of
appreciated property, a gift annuity may be able to reduce capital gains tax
by spreading it over you life expectancy.
For the younger donors, a deferred
payment gift annuity is an excellent retirement planning tool for those who do
not need to receive annuity payments immediately. With a deferred payment
annuity, you defer receiving payments until some future date, such as
retirement, but you receive the charitable income tax deduction now. When you
defer payment until some future date, your rate of return is considerable
higher.
If you would like to know how you
can receive higher income from low-yield highly appreciated assets, and leave
more to your family and your church, contact Orlando Logelin by e-mail at:

the Lutheran Renewal office and we will connect you with Orlando.
