The Masters Institute - For People with Dreams

If you have a dream of touching your world, if you long to preach the Word with power, if the Lord has told you that you are to bring healing to others, if you've always wanted to offer hope to lonely people, then maybe The Master's Institute (MI) is for you. MI is for those who have an insatiable craving to be used by God and who are willing to pay the price to be trained. And I don't mean tuition payments. Getting equipped for service means being spent rather than spending, learning how to go low, how to give up a reputation rather than getting one.

MI is built around the three-legged stool of Biblical teaching, character formation, and leadership training. We are training our students to think Biblically, to lead skillfully, and to serve faithfully. The grades they receive are recorded in heaven's journals for the work they do long after leaving MI. We would rather have them pass the test of humility than homiletics. If our students graduate more conformed to the character of Christ than when they came, we know that they will have been served well by our seminary.

Every one of our teachers has a passion for God and for His holy Word. We bow before its authority in our lives. And our desire is to live the Word, not just know the Word. If you know of either young college graduates or second career people who would thrive in such an environment and who have a dream that they cannot shake, please put them in touch with us.

CRESCENDO

Ten students between the age of 55 and 74 gathered at Dunrovin Retreat Center August 24-26, 2003 for the first retreat of the new MI program. It was established for people approaching, or in, retirement, those who wanted to make the second half really count, who wanted to rock rather than find a rocker, who wanted to hit the tape on the run, who wanted to upgrade their skills for greater service to the Lord, who wanted to fulfill their dreams. Here are some of the dreams that were shared as each one told his/her story:

  • To be a credentialed chaplain and bring the love of Christ to seniors in rest homes

  • To pastor a church in a rural community where ministers are hard to come by

  • To connect children with the elderly so they can serve each other

  • To minister more effectively in my own congregation

  • To bring hope and healing to couples in troubled marriages

Maybe you have finished your career, but you know that you haven't finished the purpose for which you were created. Paul says that "we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Eph.2: 10). There is no greater satisfaction than knowing we are doing what we have been destined to do. Crescendo is looking for people fifty-five and older who believe that God still has an exciting plan for them to live out. We would like to equip you to embrace God's plan for this segment of your life's journey. Check us out on the website, www.themastersinstitute.org or call us at 651-765-9756. This may be one of the most important calls of your life.
